🖋️ Rino writes: Stevenson Square is one of my favourite spots in Manchester city centre, especially now that has been pedestrianised.

It's very close to the Northern Quarter, and it's an area with plenty of history, architectural treasures, and visible traces of industrial heritage. It looked like the perfect spot to take Danylo's portrait.

🖋️ Rino writes: Matty has such an intense look in this portrait that we took in a car park in the city centre – we were lucky as I wanted an empty top-level space, and we found it, with access ramps and all! I love the fact that it overlooks the city streets.
Matty did a great job providing the right amount of mystery, making the image so open to interpretation.

This portrait is for the When in Manchester series, my long-term project of urban portraits taken in Manchester – “frozen frames” from a wander around the city and suburbia.
